Want to Know How to Lighten Up Your Day?

February 25th, 2010

So you want to know how to lighten up your day?

I spent my whole life being way too serious. Even my school teachers used tot ell me to stop being so serious! Yikes. Well, here I am in my late 50s and I finally figured out how to lighten up.

The first thing I had to let go was my fear of looking stupid, goofy, or silly. I actually thought if I made a fool of myself that people would think less of me. I feared losing my credibility!

Tell you what really happens when you jump out of your comfort zone and get really silly, even foolish – people find you endearing! Yes, endearing. People like you more when you stop acting all perfect.

Who’d a thought?

Okay, for me the next step was to do something I didn’t even realize I was afraid to do – laugh out loud. Can you even imagine being afraid to laugh out loud?

Do you know what? Laughing out loud feels amazingly good! What a release. I feel like I give myself an internal love wash when I laugh out loud.

Go ahead. Do it. Yes you. Laugh out loud – unless you are afraid to do it. Which. if you are at work now it may not be the optimal time to test this out.

As soon as you know it’s safe just start laughing out loud. See if you can do a real guffaw or belly laugh. Awesome, isn’t it?

Everyone knows that yawns are contagious. Did you know that smiles are too? If you smile at someone chances are pretty good they will smile back at you. And if one of you starts laughing – well watch out for the ensuing fun.

Laugh out loud to liven your day and cheer up everyone within earshot. People will feel so good being around you. Pretty darn neat, huh?

Smiles and laughter – catch both today and go viral. (Okay, so the pun makes more of a groan than a laugh out loud – or does it?)

Warning: Do not neglect the above! Make sure to take this advice seriously if you want to create your world to live in happiness.

STOP! Are you about to give up being happy forever?

If what you do every day has not let you create a reality of happiness yet, do you really think anything will look different tomorrow? Discover what stops you cold. Go to http://LiveInHappinessNow.com/indexW.html and grab my FREE ebook, What You Don’t Know You Don’t Know And remember… Don’t give up hope… You deserve to be happy.

Hi

Thanks to all those people who have contacted us since Monday asking for additional information regards some of the property related content given out on Monday evening. There was a lot of debate about the pros and cons of LHA tenants. The fact that over 60% of the people in the room had experiences of LHA tenants meant that there was certainly a lot to share and learn from their own real-life examples and how it has/has not worked for them.

Happiness Is A By-product Of Activity…

“Happiness lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort. The human spirit needs to accomplish, to achieve, to triumph to be happy.

Happiness does not come from doing easy work, but from the afterglow of satisfaction that comes after the achievement of a difficult task that demands your best.

Your personal growth itself contains the seed of happiness. You cannot pursue happiness by itself. There is no happiness except in the realisation that you have accomplished something.

Happiness thrives in activity. It’s a running river, not a stagnant pond.

How Time Fly’s

February 22nd, 2010

Hey Guys and Gals

The past two months have been quite hectic but slow at the same time!!?? How can this be – Well, I have been following and ticking off my aims and objectives for the year – and boy how quick the months fly past when you are being productive – At times it seems as if there are not enough hours and days in a month to get the job done. It seems slow in so far as for things to happen you need to lay the foundations and sometimes wait. Like a true soldier, I will persevere and continue to get the job done.

Have I mentioned about two books that put me on good stead for this year? Well if not, I will, If I have, I will again…..

“The 4-Hour Work Week” by Timothy Ferris and “Think Like A Champion” by Donald J Trump. If you are not used to reading or even purchasing books…get these two for this year –You will not be disappointed – They are both truly great, fun and inspiring books…go get yourself a copy.

I have been working hard over the years and have not put time aside to go abroad. Well this year I am taking my family to the Riu Hotel in Ochi Rios, Jamaica. I cannot wait to get into the sunshine and show off my body….hell yeah. Please send me your experiences of this hotel as this will make an interesting read..

As I am writing this, I am watching or should I say being distracted by a programmes called “Britain’s Really Disgusting”, a documentary covering the dairy industry and the terrible muck that they put in dairy products and very little milk used…interesting to say the least – You are what you eat – These companies and what they subject the consumer to –terrible!

Have you escaped the Rat Race? If so, let me know your story and how you did it?

Until next time……………..Have a productive day, whatever you do

Firstly let me congratulate you for…

Loving Yourself, It’s a Start

February 14th, 2010

First of all, what does “loving yourself” really mean?

Staying up all night with your partner, watching his or her favorite television show, laughing about it, when in fact, you do not find it funny at all, is one of the ways you probably do to show your partner that you love him or her.

All that hugging, cuddling and kissing is a more physical way of showing how much you love him or her. But to yourself? How do you show love to yourself?

Give Yourself Some Appreciation

Loving yourself encompasses a show of appreciation. You accept the fact that you are not a perfect person, yet you surround yourself with a positive aura. You would tend to ignore people who give you destructive negative feedback. Just be happy with who you are and you will be happy with your life.

Do not include hate in your daily living, but rather, fill it with love, not just for others but also for yourself.

Give Yourself That Image Boost

Pamper yourself. Treat yourself to the salon and try each of whatever the salon agents have to offer. Having a positive outlook in life already proves that you are beautiful within.

What do you have to lose to actually look beautiful outside, right?

Now, if you are a man and is probably laughing your head off imagining what you would look like with pink-colored nails, you do not have to actually take this tip literally and take yourself to the salon. You could go to your favorite barber shop and have that wonderful lock of yours trimmed. You could also have a relaxing massage after you have aromatherapy.

Spare Time From Your Hectic Schedule

Loving yourself does not necessarily mean that you put your needs and wants above all others. It only means that you spare some time for yourself. Actually relaxing and just feeling the breeze are something that you have not done for a very long time. And you realize that it is about time you actually spared some to enjoy the wonders of nature.

Mirroring

How you see yourself is how other people will see you as well. If you treat yourself like a piece of junk, other people will definitely treat you like so, if not even worse. If you want others to accept and love you for who you really are, then you have to accept and love yourself first.

Forgive Yourself.

You have to cut yourself some slack. Nobody is perfect and everybody commits mistakes of their own kind. For sure, you have your own share of embarrassing and hair-raising mistakes that will probably make some people meet their eyebrows when they see you.

Even if this is the case, you have to learn to forgive yourself. You cannot truly love yourself if you have some skeletons in the closet you are trying to deny to yourself. You have to be open to yourself and just forget your shortcomings.

You have to actually believe that you are worthy of love. Believing that you are totally unworthy of this healthy and pleasant value proves that you do not love yourself. There is a popular saying that you cannot give away what you do not have.

If you do not, or at least, find it in you to actually love yourself, then what you claim to be your love for others is highly questionable. Reciprocally, they will also not be comfortable in showing their own personal version of love for you.

Another thing that you could do to help yourself in loving yourself is to stop whatever is harmful for you. If you have vices that you just can’t get out of, well, it is about time that you do. Because if you truly love yourself, you would know just how valuable you are and quit those activities and things that can pose any harm towards you and your health.

Always remember that the more loving you are to yourself, then the more others who are close to you, or those whom you want to love you back, can also be more loving towards you.

Just think of the song by Michael Masser and Linda Creed entitled “The Greatest Love Of All”, listen to the lyrics, and you will learn that loving yourself is indeed the greatest love of all.

Douglas Spencer, simplifies personal growth by helping you create and live a life that works well and feels great! My aim is to help you achieve greater awareness! in living and experiencing life. To evolve human consciousness to higher levels. To change lives and to create possibility. To revolutionize the way we understand

The Essence of What is.

10 Ways to Find Happiness

February 14th, 2010

It is strange that we are getting more and more unhappy as we gain more material goods, higher education, and a longer lifespan.

Happiness does not rely solely on material goods, knowledge, and long life.

One college lecturer mentioned that Nigeria was one of the most corrupted countries in the world. However, they were the happiest people on Earth. It seemed so strange to us that corruption and happiness co-existed.

The Nigerians obviously did not find happiness through corruption.

The lesson is that happiness is independent on money, material possessions, love, superior medical treatment, and knowledge.

Let us learn from the lifestyle of the happiest people on Earth to find happiness.

1. Do not think too much. Nigerians are notorious for living in the present, and never worry about the future. We are not happy, since we think too much.

2. Maintaining close relationship is important. Nigerians have a very closely knitted family network.
As long as we accept people for what they are, we can find happiness in our relationships with others.

3. Decide to be a happy person. Make a choice to live happily. Let nothing stress you to death.

4. Choose to be grateful for what you have. As long as you are alive and kicking, that is happiness. You can choose to be grateful for your job, your food, your house, your car, your pet and so on. The Nigerians are so poor, yet they are so appreciative of what they have.

5. Reduce your dosage of bad news.
There is no need to how many people died from cancer. You need to know about cancer prevention and healthy eating.

6. A religious connection helps you to find happiness. It is good to learn different ways of looking at life. It is good to have a strong belief in the meaning of life.

7. Manage your time well. Time management means scheduling, setting goals, planning, prioritizing and relaxation.

You need time to simply relax and do nothing. A kid can stare at the moving fan for hours. That is a form of happiness.

8. Have the courage to laugh heartily. Some of us exercise self-restraint and forget about playing the fool. It is good to let go, and laugh. Having the courage to laugh heartily brings happiness.

9. Find a means of expressing your thoughts, feelings, friendship, and passion. The Nigerians love to sing. That is a form of expressing their happiness.

You can anger management. Children have the freedom to throw toys to release frustration. You cannot grab the chair and throw it across the room when you are at work. However, you can go for strenuous exercise to release your anger and frustration.

10. Hard work brings a sense of personal satisfaction.
You can find happiness from your passion. Many gamers find satisfaction and happiness from playing online games. You can enjoy a few hours of slaying dragons. However, do not get addicted to the game.

Money can buy happiness in some ways. However, it does not mean that a billionaire is happier than a millionaire is.

A passionate blogger from Singapore. Personal finance is about making money, saving money, spending money and investing money.

You Are Already Rich – You Just Didn’t Know It!

February 14th, 2010

The world’s population are increasingly aware of the price of everything, yet know the value of nothing.

It could be argued that society in general today is obsessed with profit, deadlines, growth and simply making more money. This can have a negative effect on the human body and soul where these business practices rub off into our every day thoughts and make-up. More and more people, it seems, are not satisfied with every day pleasures, instead pleasure seems to progressively come from monetary gains.

Of course there is nothing wrong with having money itself, or even wanting more of it. By being financially sound means security and a good lifestyle with the assurance of providing for our offspring. However distinguishing what in life has real value can be hard to fathom for some.

What if there is more to life than spending hundreds on the next ‘must-have’ gadget? What if money is not the best way to put a value on something?

In our every day lives, moulded by the society around us, we tend to find ourselves proving our worth. This often translates in comparisons between ourselves, our possessions and our image as viewed by others. The latest new iPod, a brand new car and a top of the range TV are some examples of what can be viewed as a measure of success. Material products and money in the bank however – as it is well documented – do not equal a person’s happiness. They may provide pleasure to some extent but being financially wealthy is not necessarily the same as being rich.

Deep down every human knows what brings genuine joy into their lives, the blinkers we wear every day simply make it hard, or too obvious, to see or realise. Families, listening to music, eating great food with friends, socialising, walking the dog in the park or having sex with your loved one bring levels of wealth that cannot be bought elsewhere. They are natural examples of realising that whatever our financial situation may be, our lives are already incredibly wealthy.

Below is a list of activities that can be done by everyone to improve the wealth of our lives. Why not spend more time participating in some of the following to enrich your life?

- A healthy body equals a healthy mind, get fit or exercise more;
- Spend more time with your friends and family;
- Walk the dog;
- Savour the enjoyment from your pets;
- Have a glass of wine tonight;
- Tell someone you love them;
- Make yourself or someone else laugh;
- Go out for a meal;
- Have sex more often;
- Go for a walk in the country;
- Eat some chocolate;
- Learn something new;
- Talk to someone at work you usually ignore;
- Listen to music;
- Complete work at the best of you ability;
- Take a day off;
- Read a book;
- Learn something new;
- Enjoy some time on your own;
- Catch a movie with a friend or loved one;
- Think of happy past memories;
- Cook a new dish;
- Book a holiday or break away;
- Pamper yourself to look good;
- Give someone a gift;
- Talk to your neighbours;
- Make the most of the weekends;
- Ride a bike;
- Perform some music or sing;
- Spend more time with your children;

Life really can be quite simple and enormously enjoyable if we just let. Isn’t it time to forget being obsessed with financial gains and to focus more on what really makes us happy?

After all you are already rich, you just didn’t know it!

Happiness – How to Be Happy With Yourself Every Day

February 14th, 2010

You have probably heard this saying before, “The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting to have different results. ” Well the saying about insanity holds true for happiness as well. It is insane to believe that you will achieve true happiness if you continue doing the same things which have led you to be unhappy in the first place. If you want to be happy with yourself, then you are going to have to identify and change all of the things that you are presently doing which has lead you to experience unhappy results. For starters, you can change your attitude.

Change Your Attitude
Now, what if I told you that happiness is a choice and people who are not happy with themselves have made the decision to be unhappy. Would you believe me? Well, it is the truth. In fact, every morning that you wake up you have the same opportunity as everybody else in the world when it comes to being happy and that is you get to a chance to chose to be happy or you can chose to grumble about what is going wrong in your life. When you chose to grumble about what is going wrong in your day, your past or even your present circumstances, then you can rest assured that you will experience unhappiness.

How to Have a Positive Attitude
When I was growing up, I can recall hearing a fable about a woman who was known for always having something positive to say. The saying went that you could never get this woman to find fault in anybody or say anything negative period. It became a game for people to approach this woman just to try to get her to say something negative.

Well, one day, a man approached the positive woman with the intent on getting her to say something negative. This man believed that without a doubt he had finally found the one person who the positive woman would have to say something negative about. Guess who he picked? He picked The Devil. When the man approached the woman, he said to her “What about the Devil?”

The woman who is always so positive thought about it for a moment and then she said, “Well, the Devil is always busy.” The positive attitude that the woman maintained in this fable is the kind of attitude that you must have in order to be happy with yourself. True happiness lies in your ability to always find something good to focus on.

When you change your attitude from focusing on all of the negative things in life and you start focusing on all of the good things in life you will definitely see a change in your attitude. Your attitude will change from being negative and grouchy to being positive and happy.

Three Critically Important Steps For Success

January 17th, 2010

There are many steps to success. I suppose if you listed them all there might be hundreds is you counted all the experts and all their suggestions. I think that there are three critically important steps for success. Without these three, your chances are slim!

Believe in what you want.

You have to believe that the task you want to accomplish is achievable and worthwhile. If you do not believe that what you want to do is within your ability to achieve or that it is not something that you should be wasting your time on then stop right now. You have little chance of ever being successful.

Now the goal in mind may not be something that you personally want to do, it might be something from your boss, but if you cannot find some way to believe in it, you are doomed.

If you do not believe it is something that you can ever do, if it seems unreachable, then you have little chance of reaching it. You will constantly defeat yourself with negative thinking about how no one could ever do what you have in mind to do.

Our thoughts and our beliefs are two thirds of the factors that create our realities. If we believe that something is impossible and we think it is impossible, then for us, it is impossible. Henry Ford said that whether you think you can or you can’t, you are right.

You must put action behind your belief.

I said that belief and thought were two thirds of what creates our reality. Action is the final third. You can believe something is true, something is achievable, until you are blue in the face and if you put no action toward that goal, it will most likely never happen.

Some people who are believers in the law of attraction think that all they have to do is put their order out into the universe and the cosmos, like an eternal bell boy will make it happen. Good luck! We have to work for the things we want. Even if it is something as simple as reaching out your hand to take it, you have to put out some effort.

If you believe that what you want to do is within your ability to do, then you must not only plan for how you are to accomplish this feat, you must put those plans into action. You have to put some effort into getting where you want to be. You have to have some backbone, not just a wishbone.

Self Discipline

The last thing you need is self discipline. You have to be strong enough to take the action needed. You have to be able to face the small failures, and yes there will be some, and go on. You have to be able to be strong enough to work past the obstacles that you will meet. Think about it! Have you ever done anything that did not have a few hurdles to jump over?

This discipline might be in a schedule that you refuse to miss or a plan or task that must be carried out before you sleep. It might be the routine of saying over and over to yourself what it is you want to do and how you will not let anything stop you. Without self discipline, you will crumble at the first sign of difficulty. Strengthen your resolve to see the task done!

There you have it! The three critically important steps to success in anything you want to do are belief, action and self discipline!
